Virtual Christmas Letter

Wow, it's been a month and a half since I've last written. Tells you a little bit about how my last month has gone. In the last month, I've started as a Rodan + Fields consultant (hit me up with any of your skincare needs!), been hired as a Barre instructor at my gym, and continued to work with my favorite little patients and families as a NICU nurse. Oh and did I mention I am officially a Certified Lactation Counselor? Pretty neat stuff. My photography business has been a little slower over the last month, but I've been able to squeeze in a few sessions here and there! Enough about my busy month. I'm here to chat reflection on the past year and anticipation for the new year! You can call this my virtual Christmas letter.

I was asked yesterday what my highlight of the year was and my first response was, "Wow, I have no highlights. Nothing. My year was fairly uneventful." But as I'm writing this and reflecting on my year, "uneventful" is the last word that comes to mind. As I was looking through my photos from this past year in preparation for this post,  I am reminded of so many memories. I am so blessed to have SO many beautiful, significant people in my life that make this crazy life so full.

This year has been a challenging one to say the least. God always seems to have a little different plan for my life than what I intend, but I'm starting to get the hang of it! This year has been full of last minute sushi dates, a few (several) batches of mini chocolate chip cookies, countless hours at the gym, New Mexico trip to see my sister and the kiddos, photo sessions, working nights, several miles ran, a couple 5Ks, sister time, visiting dear friends, good coffee and conversation, weddings galore, spending time on the farm, and snuggling lots of adorable babies whenever I get the chance.

I've never been one that makes an elaborate New Years resolution, but as we head into the New Year, my hope is this: I want to live with intention. I want to be intentional each and every day. I want my life to reflect Jesus. I want others to look at me and notice that there is something different. I want them to notice a joy that could only come from The Lord. That is my hope for 2018.

To close off my virtual Christmas letter, I challenge each of you to live life with intention this year. Find your tribe and love them hard. Do things that bring you joy. Step outside of your comfort zone and do something that may scare you. This life is short, but we have the opportunity to live it BIG. Let's do just that. Again, another short and sweet post by yours truly, but I've got some things to do to start this year off right, including eating some prime rib. I hope this year brings many blessings and finds you surrounded by the ones you love most.

Wishing you the best of years!

With love, Kati
